Day 3 (Monday) was a busy day of things we did in Florida!
We started our day with breakfast outside, which is one of my favourite things about warm weather vacations! Then we got ready for our day at Downtown Disney.
Heading into downtown Disney, which is now apparently called "Disney Springs".
Logan and I are a bit slow when wandering around, so Steph, Jon and Rachel wandered to do their won thing and we grabbed some iced beverages, checked out the water, some of the stores and of course... the dinosaurs! Logan made a special request to come back here t visit the dinosaurs.
Logan was so excited when he saw this train, so he obviously needed to go for a ride! I also took a little video of this ride and then he proceeded to watch the video a hundred times because he loved his train ride. I love the simple excitement of a 2 year old! And he had no idea the next day was a magic kingdom day filled with awesome rides!
Visiting the animals that squirt water outside of the rainforest cafe.
The merchandise at downtown Disney didn't really call to us, but the treats did! Logan got some candies from Goofys Candy Co. and I got a rice krispie treat. We also got Logan some Mickey shaped noodles and cookies. He loves the Mickey noodles, which I'm sure were not the standard grocery store price so it was a win!
We're all about shopping for food.
After a couple hours of wandering stores, looking at the massive lego displays of the dragon in the water, toy story, and hulk, we decided to head home and it happened to be lunch time. We knew in advance that Logan would be 1) tired and 2) hungry when we finished up around 1pm, so we came prepared and packed ham, cheese and buns! This way Logan could have his lunch before inevitably falling asleep on the way home. We were very proud of this good parent planning because there were multiple points of this trip where food and sleep wasnt planned around and we felt so guilty for him!
Here's Logan having his sandwich in the backseat beside his car seat! Just a random car picnic.
Jons sandals broke while wandering around so they headed our to the store and Rachel joined us while we pooled it up during Logan's nap! Rachel was way happier to swim than shop. She was in the pool any second that she was allowed to!
I had prepared with buying pina coloda, strawberry daiquiri and margarita mixes so I could have poolside virgin drinks but every time I wanted one, Logan seemed to be sleeping and I didnt want to put the blender on so I ended up with syrup drinks!
This donut was actually not the comfiest for my belly but it was so awesomely fun!
This was the day the discovery was made that our phones are waterproof and we can actually take under water pictures! Rachel was thrilled!
Later that day before supper, we went over to the resorts clubhouse to check out their pool and splash pad. We didnt go in the pool but Logan liked the splash pad area with the water spraying everywhere and we got about 20 min of splashing fun in before he was all done. It was nice that they had all the extras available to us if we wanted it like the use of the clubhouse with pool tables and a gym, their big pool and splash pad and lake and bbq area!
And I dont have many belly pictures, but a few from this trip - 29 weeks!
After an afternoon at our pool and splash pad, we headed to the lake where we had planned our bbq the night before but got rained out. This time it was sunny and perfect for a BBQ!
We just had to be sure not to feed the alligators (no alligators were spotted thank goodness but this sign made me want to stay very close to Logan while he played)
There was a massive green area by the lake where Rachel and Jon did some fishing and Logan played in the sand of the volleyball court and hit up the playground. It was a pretty great space for community use and Jon and Rachel had used it for fishing first thing one of the mornings too.
And we had the whole area to ourselves!
Bbqing up some burgers for supper with beers (and Dr Thunder for me. Because apparently I cheap out on Dr Pepper now).
Our house didnt come with a BBQ so we made it our mission to have a BBQ at he lake one of the nights!
Group shot, family bbq day.
We ended up getting home a bit later than Logans bedtime so it was straight to bath and bed for Logan after this and we all made it a reasonable night since the next day was our Disney park day!
