Happy Easter Weekend!

Happy Easter! We have a weekend of Easter dinners coming up.. tomorrow (Sat) at my Mom's and Sunday at Aleksy's parents.

Rachel and I (and Logan) had to start Easter baking early because Rachel had her overnight at our place in late February on her PD day. We knew we wouldn't get another chance for baking before Easter so we took advantage early.

Here's Rachel with the cookies we made... sugar cookies with Easter sprinkles in them and Easter smarties on top! These babies are in the freezer all ready for supper at my Mom's tomorrow!
Our other Easter creation was this Easter Bark with tons of Easter Goodies on top. Rachel loved this even more than the cookies and wanted several samples.

The Thursday afternoon playgroup was at my place on Thursday (yesterday) just before Easter weekend. So I thought it would be a good idea to plan a baby friendly craft. This is what we did: styrofoam eggs and sponge chicks in the ziploc... put a few drops of paint in the ziploc and let the babies spread it around. It worked great... lots of babies' first crafts! The eggs turned out especially nice. Just like dying eggs :)

And to Aleksy's excitement, there were no paint splatters on the table.
We planned for this Easter photoshoot with the babies... with their fancy Easter outfits and bunny ears! The older babies loved the plastic eggs for biting their fresh new teeth on (Logan has broken a bottom tooth!).
This cutie!!! Logan's first Easter. The Easter bunny is going to be real good to him this year. The hiding places will sure to be easy for him to find the eggs and chew on them to his liking... maybe a few fun things in his basket too (bubbles?!).

Baby Stuff

This is what baby Logan has been up to over the past month!

Logan attended his first Superbowl party in February. He was well prepared with his football shirt "End zone here I come". Every year we go to Aleksy's parents place to watch the game. I remember last year was a blizzard and I was pregnant so naturally I was the DD in the horrible weather. This year we didn't make it to the end of the game because we had to get someone to bed! But we watched the rest from home...

I tried to get a shot however, as you can see he was really into the game.
We are "those" parents... so darn proud and excited about every little thing our baby does. So here it is... we are so excited that Logan can stand for short periods of time independently while holding onto the couch (or other supports). This is our guy at the beginning of March just holding on to the couch and standing!! Even before 6 months. I have a video of this too and he stood for at least 30 seconds.

Strong legs!
Logan's friend Levi and him. Hanging out on a regular Thursday afternoon play date! Levi is actually 2 months younger than Logan but Logan is just a puny one! Levi reached Logan's same weight at 2 months and has since exceeded!
We have had a few swim play dates with Logan and this one was about 2 weeks before Chelsea's twins were born! Logan with his friend Cadence  (who is showing her"excited" face). Logan has also had swim dates with his friends Chase and Colton and baby friends Levi and Landon.
After the swim playdate, Cadence came over for supper too. Post supper kisses for Mr. Logan!

Uh oh. Logan has a girlfriend!
Also new in baby living... I am now a baby food making machine! This is the set up.. pureed veggies, fruits, and in this picture there's also chickpeas, freeze in ice cubes and Ziploc until serving! Logan has had tons of foods already at 6 months... peas, green beans, sweet potato, carrots, blueberries, pears, applesauce, bananas, yogurt, ground turkey, chickpeas... that names most of them!
Also.. speaking about being "those parents"... Logan can sit by himself!! This started about a week ago, just after the weekend of the 19/20th, Logan decided he had figured out how to self-stabilize and is doing amazing already at 6 months... what a guy.
Logan and I made a visit to Aleksy's cousin's family a couple weeks back too. We got pictures of the cousins: Daniella holding Mr. Logan. Logan had a good visit meeting his cousin and playing with all her old baby toys.
One of the best Mama-Baby activities I found out about is a stroller walking/exercise group that is registration-free and cost-free at the upstairs of Westmount mall. Doesn't get much better than that! We have only made it out once because its at 10am (which you would think is a decent time but with a 6 month old...). It happened to be International Women's Day and although you cant read the papers we are holding up... that's what it says! Logan and I are about 6 from the right. He's not in his stroller and having me gold him as usual...
Logan having another swim play date with his peers Landon and Levi! This was Landon and Levi's first swim :)
As we (the Mama's) like to call them.. the OG 3 "L"s. Landon and Logan sharing their toy! That Elmo to the left.. that's a sure hit with the babies.... who knew such a simple dollar store toy would be so exciting for all babies!
Family Swimming picture! This was the same day that Logan went swimming with his friend Cadence!

Logan is one busy guy with lots of play dates and plans. It's been something that I have prioritizing to keep Logan exposed to lots of different people, other children and environments so he will be better adaptable as he grows. So crazy how fast half a year has passed!

The next adventure

We are booked and excited to go on our first cruise this summer! We booked a carnival cruise for the 3 of us at the end of August. This is perfect timing with our anniversary and just a few weeks before going back to work! We have been many places around the Caribbean (Cuba, Mexico, Dominican) but super excited for the Bahamas... sounds fancier than where we've been.

Logan's first adventure out of Canada (working on his passport now... cutest passport picture ever!).

Our cruise will hit up a couple islands in the Bahamas  (including Nassau) and also Turks and Caicos. Excited for some nice beaches and day outings. But even days at sea will be nice since slower pace with baby is always helpful.

I love adding places to my map of where I've been! There's a big gray area in Asia. .. I'd love to colour that in!

Although it's still 6 months away, it's not too early to start the shopping! I've already done some online shopping and Logan has tried on some fedoras!
