What Makes Fall Awesome

We have had several good festive fall days this year... and I'm going to post about some fall days before I go 100% into Christmas mode (the tree must go up next weekend!).

Fall started, but this Saturday, Sept 27th was sunny and about 23 degrees! This was the day that we went to Aleksy's high school friend, Ryan and Jody's wedding. The afternoon ceremony was at the chapel near the regional mental health centre. It was really cute and great for pictures! And the reception took place in the evening at the Oaks golf course in Delaware. It was a beautiful wedding, and they even had fireworks to top it all off!
This was exciting for us: Mr and Mrs Chwiecko! Its the first time it has been officially printed. Still working on the marriage certificate...
In other exciting fall events, my Rachel started hockey in October! We got out to the arena in early October when they were doing "try outs" where they scrimmage to see the skills of the kids then make the teams to try to make the teams fair. Rachel was so cute in her little pink helmet... she has a friend on her team who also has a pink helmet.

We watched one of the first games where she was goalie and she was diving for the pucks left right and centre. It was very sad when one got in... but I held it together...
Also on an October weekend, we made plans with Al, Steph & Colton to go to Appleland! It was a really sunny day, but still cold. Colton was really cute picking out apples and eating them. He also it up the animal farm & corn maze.

Aleksy and I decided this year not to buy the actual apples that were $12/bag in addition to the $6/person that you pay just to enter Appleland. Really expensive... so we decided to stick to the ol' no frills for our apples. And we made it our mission to eat $6 worth of apples each while in Appleland...
What we did manage to leave with was pumpkins! We got a big pumpkin, a small one and some gourds for decor. We looked through the store for the baked goods... that smelled so good... but we decided against the cost and calories.

Colton also got a pumpkin from this pumpkin patch!

This is the first year in a while that I didn't get to make an apple pie or apple crisp... thank goodness for friends... we now have an apple pie in our freezer from Steph O.: Aleksys birthday pie (I can eat Aleksys bday present I think).
Also in October, we got to see Nikki and Jon Jon's newly bought house for the first time! They actually got their keys the weekend of our wedding, and after several weeks of renovations, they moved in at the end of September!

We wanted to get them a house warming gift, but its hard to get something useful, so we stuck with a 6 pack of beer and a 6 pack of palm bays. And we made this house to hold it all... happy hosue warming!

The best part of it all... they moved from Mississauga to Burlington! About 20 minutes closer to us!
