Vacation of the Bahama Baby: Day 3

Day 3 was our first Port stop to Turks and Caicos!

We had already arrived when we woke up around 6am. Maybe it was the boat making noise that woke Logan up. From our balcony we could see the beach and hear the bar music and we were so pumped! We got a fam shot with Grand Turk in the background from our balcony!

We had some early breakfast at the buffet and headed out around 8am since we had to be back on the boat by about 2!
We walked straight to the beach to set up our spot and after being offered umbrellas, braids in my hair and banana boat rides about 10 times, we found a good spot away from all that under some palm trees! Im not going to lie... I contemplated the braids until I saw that they revealed scalp. Not my style!

Our view of the beach is palm trees, ocean, and our cruise ship! So cool!
This is a cute baby having his first time with his toes in the ocean... Lucky boy got to feel (and taste) the ocean before his 1st birthday!
The Caribbean is a bit more hot and humid than back home... got to make sure to stay hydrated. This was his special vacation cup we got him just before the cruise. He just started using straws in the nick of time because he gets so much more fluids in him with this cup!

All that swimming is pretty wearing...
Family photo! A nice man walking by just offered to take one without us asking! The caution tape behind us is a lovely backdrop.
After we had a bit of a swim in the amazing warm water, Aleksy went for an adventure to find some beers for us while Logan and I played with his beach ball. And they were so pricey! These Turks Heads cost $6 a pop from the Margaritaville... so expensive!
Then we headed over toward the resort styled pool that was also open to cruisers! This was nice because it was calm water for Logan and there was a shallow area where he could splash. He was getting sleepy at this point and we were confident that we wore him out for a nap, so we gave him his bottle and put him in the stroller to sleep and we could walk around more.
Stroller nap success. To celebrate our parental victory, we hit up the margaritaville once more where I got a pina coloda and Aleksy got the landshark beer with a shot of tequila in it (it has a special kind of name that I don't know... but don't need to because it wont be my drink of choice!)
Then we walked to explore! We checked out the shopping, where Aleksy got his hat even though I was the one on a mission to find a fun vacation hat. And we went to the other side of the ship where there was a pier, and a massive whale statue. Logan stayed asleep for these adventures.
Once Logan woke up (1 hour 15 min for this one!), we went down further to the restaurant that we could see and hear the music from our balcony. And we are so glad we did! Our $6 beers were just a couple dollars here and they had swings for seats.

The only downfall about this walk was trying to pull the stroller through the sand on the beach. A struggle we continued to battle with all port stops!

After grabbing beers at this restaurant, we headed back to the boat for some lunch! It was a short day so we were back on the boat before 2.
Logan loves stairs. After lunch, we tried to wear him out a bit more so he'd go down for a 2nd nap so we took him to the theatre and stage area so he could crawl around with tons of space (rather than the tiny space in the room!). Of course he went straight for the stairs even though there was space upon space to crawl. I don't blame him.. these are not like our stairs.

Next stop: pool and splash pad area. A little extra to wear Logan out.. and Aleksy. Because wouldn't we regret it if we didnt try the water slides?
The best place ever!! - Logan C.
Preparing for nap: aka drink time! Some gin and tonics with our brought in gin and I also managed to sneak in one of those mini wine bottles from the States that I love. I bought a 4 pack in Detroit but didn't drink them all! Those are my favourite.
Yup. Looks like nap time to me!

And after nap, some buffet supper, we got back to the room at the end of the night and our nightly towel art was on the bed! Goober was set to destroy it! Each night we got pictures with the towel art and Logan destroying it!

And after goober went to bed, we just hung out having a couple more drinks and second supper (pizza, grilled sandwiches... I don't remember what this night was... but very likely extra dessert. The buffet was open for dinner until 9 and we were already having second supper by then and in bed by 11 at the very latest. Party animals.)
