September Things

Lots of events happened in September. Our weekends have been so packed with plans... after the first crazy week of October, things should get steady and manageable again!

One of Logan's favourite things to do is to put a pillow under one of us and tuck us in... or have us do that to him. Then he tells us "shhh" and we are to pretend to sleep out loud. Kate joined in the fun.
On September 9th, we went to the Harvest Festival parade in Lambeth in the morning. Logan loved all the trucks and tractors and the piles of candy that he got from the parade (sooo much candy!). He would take the candy from the person handing it to him, and then if he got another he would hand the first to one of us. He could only keep one with him at a time!
After going to the Ilderton parade this past wekend, I appreciated the lambeth parade even more.. not a crazy amount of people and Logan could see easily and was front row.

Plus, the Lambth parade gave out corn... can't get much better than that!

After the parade, we went for a little walk to the Spicers bakery for some awesome donuts (because this summer has been the worst diet so let the failure continue!) and along the way there was free cotton candy!

Cotton candy can be added to the other awesome things that my 2 year old doesn't like... along with chocolate milk, any ice cream flavour other than vanilla, and of course juice (what kid doesn't like juice?)
Later that same day, Logan had a play date with the L crew - these boys have had regular play dates since birth (and we hung out before they were born too!).

They are only a span of 3 months from oldest to youngest, but so many differences between them! But so many similarities too.. like their love for closing doors on the parents.

We were going to go swimming that day but had a weird temperature day where it was't quite 20 degrees. So the boys admired the pool from the inside!
How to get 2 year olds to sit and look at the camera... food of course!

These guys are signed up to be friends for life!
And Saturday the 10th, we had a play date at Storybook Gardens as an early birthday celebration for Logan because his friends Lincoln Mason and Cadie couldn't make it to his birthday.

They loved these little houses and played in them for about the first hour.
I think this one's Mason (I totally had it when they were babies and I lost the magic!).
Playing with the blocks in Storybook. This is apparently where the animals used to be... but no more animals now.

Logan liked the blocks but didn't have quite the same attention span as the little houses.
Jumping is always a hit. Logan's new skill is jumping with his feet off the ground and he loves to do it tons! So this massive jumping pillow was a win for Logan.

He has been afraid of these before but we happened to go to Storybook on a really quiet day so with no one else overwhelming him, he was all over the jumping pillow!
And for Logan's birthday, his friends got him a ride on the carousel! He loves horses - I think it's because of creepy horse that he has and loves (a 1950s Annabelle horse passed from Aleksys Babcia) so he was very excited to ride a big one. He choose his horsey beside Cadie's.
After the carousel, we stopped for a picnic lunch provided to us for Logan's birthday! Complete with palm bays, beer, croissants, cheese, meat crackers and veggies.
Not to mention happy birthday donuts! We sang happy birthday to Logan and then he decided he didn't want his donut... he is all good with chocolate timbits but seems to draw the line when its a big one with chocolate icing on top...

After donuts naturally came present opening. This boy is so spoiled and loved!

This was from our walk the day after Logan's birthday party in the Sifton Bog. We took Logan out for breakfast at the Early Riser cafe near our place that morning because his actual birthday morning was rushed with getting things together. He has some pancakes for breakfast and thought we were crazy for offering him chocolate milk.

Then we went for a nice morning walk. I love this kind of family time. And Logan loves being outside and moving around so he was kept happy too.

It's just a short 10 minute Logan-friendly walk to the pond at the end and there wee lots of toads and tadpoles!
Logan soaking up these past sunny 25 degree fall days!!
