Christmas 2019!

I have fallen off the blogging bandwagon. Th last few months of trying to establish a manageable routine/time management of parenting plus working plus the additions of swimming, hockey twice a week and workouts as much as we an get in (not to mention the craziness of December Christmas things), I found myself without time for blogging or the time I did find I wanted to veg and watch tv!

I am now wanting to document my memories again and will start with the Christmas season faves!

December 9th we went to the mall to get Christmas pictures with Santa. It changed a lot this year and we actually took our own pictures and the only option for a professional picture was if you did the whole storytime with Santa. That would have been  disaster with "busy" Leah (aka Leah who wants to run around on her own terms and probably knock everything down). We got there right when a Storytime was starting so had 30 minutes to waste in the mall. We went to the Disney store where Logan decided it would be great to change his whole established list for Santa.
But there was minimal line (it was also about 7:15pm by the time this was taken!) and free!
Logan's first school Christmas concert! It was right smack dab in the middle of the busiest week at work and during work hours... and a blizzard. But we made it (Aleksy from work in St Thomas) and it was the best ever! Logans class sang Away in a Manger and Santa Claus is coming to town and Logan was front row centre with Santa Claus is coming to town and his singing and dancing was on point. Especially the starting bum wiggle.
One of the 3000 things to do for December aside from Christmas shopping, wrapping, baking, and making sure Logan was on top of the 12 days of Christmas his school decided to orchestrate (along with Leahs festive days)... teacher gifts and presents for Leahs daycare friends! Keeping it simple all the way... Winners gift cards in the gold boxes for his teachers and little antlers for Leahs friends.
Sunday December 22nd we hosted our Christmas PJ brunch with friends. Leah and I had matching Christmas dresses for the occasion. It was so much fun... and is every year. Something about the time for day probably and happy morning kids!

Logan even made it to hockey beforehand!
Every event that we host at our place is a crazy living room mess. There's not a whole lot of space for 14 kids to play so this is the result!

We are dabbling into the idea of building again... maybe a 2 yearsish in the future project to fulfill! As these kiddos age, we are clearly going to need more space!
Finding time to bake was soooo hard this year! Most of this baking happened from 8-10pm after the kids went to bed and it was 4 separate baking sessions to accomplish. Always worth it though... Christmas wouldn't be the same without it!

The Christmas brunch crew!

I went to work for one day on December 23rd (the Monday... the kids had a sleepover at Nana and Dziadeks) and then on Christmas Eve we had Christmas at my Mom and Pauls as always!

We have officially been placed at the kids table now, which isn't the worst because our kids can run free after being done with their 2 bites of supper after 10 minutes... Bu present time was the best with these 2. They were both SO excited and got spoiled! Outfits, sweaters, pajamas and a cute Snowman dress, paw patrol car, remote control car, puzzles, a baby, Leah's picnic basket and of course the kids display of star lights for their rooms... these go on now every night.
This was taken at 9:40pm... late but definitely not the worst, latest time ever!

Santa's cookies and egg nog all ready! These cookies were specially decorated by Logan for Santa.

Immediately after this picture perfect moment, Leah fell off Logans lap to the tile floor and Logan in his sleepy state calming stared at her. Late night Christmas eve problems!!
First glances of Christmas morning! Logan was up at a very reasonable 7:30am and didn't clue in that it was Christmas morning until we reminded him... but then (for the first time) he got it and was so pumped! We woke Leah up shortly after (our little teenager sleepinner has been waking up at 9am all through these holidays!) and this is when they came down the stairs.
Stockings first! Logan got a watch, some blocks, play dough and Leah got some jewelry, stacking blocks and dress up shoes and tiara (and play dough... tons of play dough this Christmas!).
These kiddos after opening all their presents under the tree! A GT snow racer and baby bed and stroller, Play dough, Hot wheels accessories, magnet builders, magnetic drawing board and so many more things!

Although Logan almost cried after opening Operation (Santa really offended him with that one!), it seemed the others were hits!
With his new (regular sized!) Lego and Magnets!
Christmas morning breakfast! I made these little shapes with the Christmas cookie cutters and Logan was obsessed and I have made pancakes since these and he is still asking for shapes!

Alongside mimosas without the OJ. Because who remembers the OJ anyways...

After a great Christmas morning (seriously great with no noted kid behaviour at all!!), we headed to Aleksys parents after Leahs nap. The kiddos got to open presents before and after supper and loved every minute of it!
