Easter 2019

As usual, Easter celebrations started with some Easter baking. I don't know what it is but I get super excited about seasonal festive baking!

We did a cousins baking day the weekend before Easter and Rach and Emma came over for Easter crafts and baking. Logan is too serious about his pretzel chocolates to look at the camera.
We made cadbury mini egg, smarties and sprinkle sugar cookies (some in bunny shapes) and they decorated them way better than I could. Those squeeze icings are impossible. Logan participated in the decorating but opted out for the picture. We sent these home with the girls but I still ended up eating way more of these cookies than I should have. I wish my 3 year old wasn't so weird and would eat cookies.
Good Friday, Logan had a quick independent visit at Nana and Dziadeks so we had about 2 hours to ourselves with this little princess. We went out for lunch at the wayside restaurant in talbotville. We always pass it so I wanted to give it a whirl. We definitely brought the average age down at least 30 years. Dining with the baby and 2 of us is a piece of cake!

Leah liked chomping on the bread and we had some sandwiches and access to the salad bar.
After we picked up Logan from Nana and Dziadeks, we went to Storybook for the egg hunt. The egg hunt was from 10-1 and we arrived fashionably late at 12:50pm. We have a seasons pass so it's not like it was waste of money for us! We just took Logan right to the "little kid" 0-3 yrs section so he could do it fast and he loved every second of it!
We realized earlier in the day that we had forgotten an easter basket for his eggs so I had a great improvise... although it wasn't raining while we were there, we were equipped with is umbrella to capture the eggs!

He caught all his colours and then traded them in for a prize (he picked bubbles... so nice to have a non chocolate choice!). We also got 1 ride ticket and instead of a ride, Logan fished some ducks from the pond and got another toy prize!
On Saturday, the baking continued and Logan helped me make the rice krispie squares with white chocolate on top and topped with all the easter candy and sprinkles!
This is how we dye eggs! Logan had big responsibility and Leah chilled beside him in her chair (probably eating some snacks).

Logan's Easter bunny from daycare and little eggs we made with Rachel and Emma.
Saturday night was Easter supper at my Moms! It was such a good night. Leah and Logan became pianists, got spoiled rotten, we had yummy supper and played the game of things until it was too late for the kids (which is when one ate bubbles and the bubble label and threw up and the other got really mad because I wasnt playing his game properly). The nice thing about Leah calling it quits for breastfeeding is I got to drink more than 1-2 glasses of wine (I think I had 3... we do leave at 9 so...)
And the Easter bunny made it to our house bringing Leah these goodies.
And Logans Easter goodies! The Easter bunny didn't size the gifts to the basket ell... we may need XXL baskets next year! Logan's favourite is the helicopter... although he cant quit use the outdoor stuff yet... the fire hydrant is a sprinkler and theres a slip and slide there too which im sure he'll love!
Leah's easter egg hunt was in all the spots along the carpet that she frequents... she loved the eggs! Mainly eating the plastic eggs and not the puff inside... If Easter was this past weekend she could have crawled to many more places to find her eggs!
This guy couldn't even wait a second to start his easter egg hunt. He saw Leah's "easy" to find eggs and then went around the house finding his and asked whether they were "tricky" ones. They were also separated into colours but it was way too exciting for that to be processed!
Logan's first Easter bunny and Leah's first Easter bunny! Logan was just telling me how much he loves posing for Easter pictures here.
But who even needs posed pictures when this is what you get candidly! This is at Nana and Dziadeks later that Sunday for supper. Logan has been super cuddly and affectionate toward Leah lately and he asked to lay with Leah. They were a beautiful 3 minutes!!
Logan was so looking forward to the egg cracking game" since he died the eggs Saturday. We only brought 11 eggs (lost some to cracks!) but came home with like 20 because Logan had to play this game with all the eggs (and win).
Logan winning Auntie Michelle's egg while Leah happily eats her bread!

Logan is crazy about his "chocolate eggies" and once he runs out of his eggies he's for sure going to ask us to get more (like last year!). He has them for potty treats so they wont last long (I also have been helping... particularly with those reeses ones!)
